St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church began in 1947. A group of parishioners from Trinity saw an opportunity in the growing Youngsville area for planting a congregation. With the encouragement of the Bishop, they quickly built a meeting space at the present location. Under the leadership of a succession of beloved clergy leaders and the many sacrifices of the founding generation, they established many well known ministries, including the regionally known Pleasures and Treasures sale that used the nearby county fairgrounds. Monthly community meals, support for all manner of local efforts, and the creative output of many members made St. Francis a vibrant addition to the greater Youngsville area.
Since 2014, the group of parishioners who worship at our Youngsville facility have worked through their partnership in the Episcopal Mission of Warren County to keep the episcopal identity in the local area.
